Nathaniel Stormcloud, warrior expert came to discuss with the class what is a warrior. They had a 75 minute discussion on what is a warrior, what types of warrior are there and talking about figures we know of to see if they fit what a warrior is. They shared historical information and battles. Passive resistance and peaceful warriors were discussed. They talked about Ghandi and his passive resistant walk to the shores to make salt along with his hunger strikes. They talked about protesters and leaders, and they worked to define a warrior.
Assignment due June 6th
1. Looking at your warrior culture you have chosen, what type of warrior are they? What has formed them to be the warriors they are? What do they stand for? What do they practice? What is their code? Share your thoughts and findings (you could make a minibook, chart or cross comparison if you are working on a lapbook)
2. What weapons are your warrior known for? And how could you make a replica of one for your coming battle games?
3. What is your warrior name? IN line with your warrior culture choose a name that has meaning of historical relevance, share your reasons and your name this week.
